Riddhima Kapoor Sahni recently discussed the harsh criticism her family faced following the death of her father, legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. In an interview with Galatta India for the upcoming season of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Riddhima revealed how they were trolled for appearing "happy" in public after Rishi’s passing.
She explained that while the family was navigating their grief, they attempted to maintain a composed public image, which was often misunderstood. "People would comment, ‘Oh, they look so happy,’ but you have to come home and see what happens," she reflected, highlighting the insensitivity of such judgments.

Riddhima addressed accusations of privilege, questioning how others could assess their emotional struggles from the outside. She expressed admiration for her mother, Neetu Kapoor, for handling the situation with grace.
Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, after a two-year battle with leukemia at the age of 67. His family fondly remembered him as someone who remained optimistic and focused on his loved ones and work throughout his treatment.
Rishi, a prominent figure in Hindi cinema, was born into the esteemed Kapoor family and was the son of the iconic Raj Kapoor. He was married to Neetu Kapoor, and they had two children: son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima, with Ranbir marrying actress Alia Bhatt in 2022.
